Jeff Campbell, who played two seasons with the Strathroy Rockets from 1998-2000, is one of four people being inducted into the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) Hall of Fame in January.
Campbell scored 100 goals and 186 points in 103 games with Strathroy. He was named East Division Rookie of the Year after scoring 38 goals and 69 points in 1998-99. The next season, he was the Western Ontario Hockey League’s top scorer with 62 goals, and 117 points (both franchise records), and was named a First-Team All-Star. In the 2000 playoffs, he led all league scorers with 35 points, propelling the Rockets to the league final.
The 62 goals and 117 points scored in 1999-2000 are each tied for the 5th best seasons in the Western league between 1979-2007.

Other franchise records include most career shorthanded goals (17), most shorthanded goals in a season (10), most career playoff goals (23), most career playoff points (46).
After his two seasons with the Rockets, played four seasons in the NCAA with the Western Michigan Broncos. He then played professionally in the AHL, UHL, and ECHL where he scored 90-164-254 points over 4 seasons with the Gwinnett Gladiators from 2004-08. He made the league’s All-Rookie Team in 2004-05, was twice selected to a First-Team All-Star, and was named the league’s MVP in 2005-06 when he scored 83 points.
Campbell played 10 seasons in Europe before his professional playing career ended in 2019. He is currently head coach for HC Fribourg-Gottéron U21 in the Swiss U-21 Elite League.
The induction ceremony will take place Monday, January 19 at 12:00pm CST in Dallas, Texas as part of the ECHL’s All-Star Classic.
