Rockets Snap Four-Game Skid with Convincing 5–1 Win Over Komoka

Komoka, ON — October 12, 2025

The Strathroy Rockets returned to the win column Sunday night at the Komoka Wellness Centre, snapping a four-game losing streak with a strong 5–1 victory over the Komoka Kings.

Goaltender Seth Ronan earned the start on the second half of a back-to-back and was rock solid between the pipes, turning aside 29 of 30 shots for his second win of the season.

Offensively, the Rockets displayed depth and poise as five different goal scorers found the back of the net. Zachary Leblanc opened the scoring with his team leadding seventh of the season, followed by Lapinski, who notched his third. Connor Crandon added to the total with his second of the year, scoring against his former team. Rookie forward Jaxson Cragg extended the lead with his second of the season, assisted by Affiliate Player Wyatt Ferguson, who recorded his first career Junior point. Cole Dotterman rounded out the scoring late in the game, tallying his sixth of the season to tie his career high.

Special teams were a key factor in the win, with Strathroy’s power play operating at 25% efficiency and the penalty kill being perfect, successfully shutting down all six Komoka opportunities.

The victory comes at a crucial time for a young Rockets squad that has shown steady improvement with each outing. Despite the recent skid, every loss during that stretch came by only one or two goals — including a controversial game against Caledonia that saw four Rockets disallowed goals, and narrow defeats against top-ranked opponents such as Ayr, St. Catharines, and St. Marys.

Head Coach and management have continued to emphasize patience and incremental growth, and Sunday’s result was a clear reflection of those efforts. The Rockets — currently the third-youngest team in the GOHL — have been steadily adjusting and gaining valuable experience as the season progresses.

With confidence building and signs of maturity emerging across the lineup, the Rockets will look to carry this momentum into their next matchup as they continue to climb in the Western Conference standings.
